2021 - 2022 season

“Our 30th season at the Jungle was a year of COVID cancellations, heartbreak, loss, learning and hope. Now, we embark upon our 31st season, and we’re committed to returning to who we are in an intentional way.

Losing the chance to complete our season in 2020 was disappointing but having the chance to re-envision these collaborations and continue to innovate with new works is invigorating. We hope to grow with planning and care, keeping the hallmarks of great Jungle works as our northern star—visceral storytelling, impeccable design and high-caliber performances.”

A PLAY THAT CELEBRATES LIFE AND UNDERSCORES THE IMPORTANCE OF HUMAN CONNECTION.

Told in collaboration with the audience, EVERY BRILLIANT THING reminds us of the life-affirming joy and wonder that exists alongside the pain and strife.

AN HONEST DEPICTION OF LOVE AND FAMILY, AS WELL AS HOW GENERATIONAL AND RACIAL TRAUMA SHAPES WHO WE ARE.

When Meg’s Uncle Stevie goes down the rabbit hole of online genealogy, he makes a discovery about the family who owned theirs — casting an unwelcome light on Meg’s relationship with her white boyfriend. Waiting for us to return to the stage since March 2020, this time and space-bending comedy questions the ways love can and cannot transcend both modern social barriers and historical power structures.

POSTPONED BY THE PANDEMIC, THE JUNGLE IS EXCITED TO PARTNER WITH THEATER MU TO LIFT UP THIS INCREDIBLE STORY ABOUT FAMILIAL BONDS AND A DARK CHAPTER OF CAMBODIAN HISTORY.

A Khmer Rouge survivor returns to Cambodia for the first time in 30 years as his daughter prepares to prosecute one of the country’s most infamous war criminals. Backed by a live band of actor-musicians playing contemporary Dengue Fever hits and classic Cambodian oldies, this thrilling story toggles back and forth in time as father and daughter face the music of the past.

Tickets on sale Wednesday, May 11 at noon.

New Flexible Subscription Model

Don't miss out on the rest of the Jungle's Season! We understand that making long-range plans is challenging in our post-Covid world, and we want our patrons to feel comfortable coming back to the theater when they are ready. For anyone who didn't feel ready to come back as a Flexible Subscriber this past fall but may feel better in 2022, we are offering a special bundle offer for the rest of our season and the opportunity to book your seats early.

pay as you are

As one of our core values, the Jungle believes that A PLAY ISN’T COMPLETE WITHOUT AN AUDIENCE. To help reach a wider audience, we are excited to implement PAY AS YOU ARE pricing this season, developed by our friends at Theater Mu. PAY AS YOU ARE pricing asks those who routinely pay $45 for theater tickets to pay that amount; it is the actual fair market value of the ticket. If an audience member needs to pay less, they can choose to pay less. Those who can pay more than the market price are welcome to do so, and their generosity will help cover the cost of someone else’s ticket as well.

A THEATER THAT CARES FOR ITS PEOPLE

One of the Jungle’s key values is caring for our people. That includes our artists, our audiences, and our staff. Making and sharing theater requires close physical proximity, so we are committed to making healthy choices, especially in these uncertain times of Covid-19.

We have been in conversation with our theater colleagues in the Twin Cities area, and like many of them, the Jungle Theater will be requiring masks for audience members, as well as proof of vaccination or proof of negative Covid-19 test within 72 hours of showtime.

With today’s ever-changing world, we will continue to re-evaluate and update our procedures to uphold this mission. Please find the most up-to-date COVID information on jungletheater.org/covid19-information.
