Welcome to the Jungle

Whether this is your first time seeing a show at the Jungle Theater or your first time experiencing live theater, we hope you feel confident and welcome in our venue.

At every performance you attend we want you to feel free to enjoy, laugh, cheer, or soak it in quietly. There is no one right way to engage with live theater, and we ask that you honor each person’s experience around you. This is a safe space for you to come as yourself and experience art with other people [which is a rare joy]. We encourage you to chat with your neighbors, read the behind-the-scenes material in our playbill, or step out of the theater if you need.

Live theater not only brings people together, but also helps us to see a different perspective from our own. The Jungle Theater strives to create potent, challenging theater that tells important stories, while being a welcoming and accepting place to individuals of all backgrounds.

We can’t wait for you to join us at the Jungle.

With that, here are some tips to help guide you through your experience at the Jungle:

When should I arrive?

Our lobby doors open 60 minutes before the performance, and we recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before curtain, giving you ample time to park, get to the theater, and find your seat. Get to LynLake early to enjoy dinner and drinks at many of our wonderful neighboring restaurants, bars, and breweries.

What if I arrive late?

We understand that life happens (especially in Minnesota winters). Latecomers will be seated by our House Supervisor at an appropriate break during the show. In some cases, you may be seated in a seat other than the one you purchased.

Where should I park?

The closet option is the Garfield Lot (paid lot) located directly behind the Jungle Theater. Free and metered parking is also available on surrounding streets.

How do I check in?

Our show’s tickets are available to be delivered via email or held at our Box Office Will Call. If you opt to have your ticket printed here and held at Will Call, head to the Box Office window to collect your tickets. You can skip the will call line by having your ticket emailed to you. Print it out ahead of time or have the virtual ticket open on your phone to present to our staff member at the door.

What should I wear?

There is no dress code at the Jungle Theater; we invite all our patrons to come as they are in what makes them happy.

We welcome getting dressed up for date night or staying comfortable and casual; or anything in between. We ask that you refrain from wearing strong perfumes or colognes to be courteous of other patrons with allergies or sensitivities.

Are food and beverages allowed in the theater?

Yes! Our seats even have cup holders! No outside food or drink is allowed in the venue, but our concessions serves a variety of beer, wine and non-alcoholic options as well as snacks.

Is my phone allowed in the theater? Can I take photos or video?

Phones and electronic devices must be silenced for the performance with texting or scrolling on your phone being strictly prohibited during the performance. Likewise photo, video or audio capturing is not allowed in the auditorium. Feel free to take photos in the lobby before the show or during intermission (we love a good playbill photo, share yours by tagging us @JungleTheater).

What is the Jungle’s Covid Policy?

For our 2023 – 2024 Season, masks for audience members are optional but strongly recommended. Masks are required for all Wednesday 7:30pm performances (we also have masks here if you forget yours!).

What if I get sick and can’t come to the show?

If you are unable to come to a show that you have bought tickets for because you get sick, contact our Box Office as soon as possible and we will try to get you into another date. We appreciate you staying home and keeping our patrons and Jungle actors/staff safe.

What if I have questions or need help?

Find a staff member or our House Supervisor, and they’ll be happy to direct you to your seats and answer any questions. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact the Box Office at (612) 822-7063 or boxoffice@jungletheater.org (Our Box Office staff is small but mighty, however, we get many voicemails during the run of a show. Email is the fastest way to reach us.)

What should I expect during the show?

Every show is a little different, you can see everything from intimate drama to cozy comedies on our stage. We try not to give spoilers but if you’re looking for information on a specific show they each have their own page on our website!
