Looking Back at the Past Five Years
As we previously announced, our talented Artistic Director, Sarah Rasmussen, has been offered the position of Artistic Director of the McCarter Theatre Center, in Princeton, New Jersey, one of the largest and most respected regional theaters in the country.
In Sarah’s final week, we are looking back at the past five years at the Jungle and celebrating Sarah's legacy of bringing bold and inclusive stories, diverse talent, and gender parity to our stage.
The Twin Cities will miss Sarah greatly. This blog post can only capture a fraction of her impact on the Jungle Theater, through the beautiful productions that she directed, the shows she commissioned, and of her passion and vision towards making the Jungle a more inclusive home for artists both local and national to share their talents.
In collaboration with the board of directors and staff, Sarah helped craft the mission, vision, and values that the Jungle Theater lives by today. This vision has been brought to life through the passion, energy, and talents of the Jungle leadership, artists, and community. We know that Sarah's direction, intelligence, and artistic skill have played an immeasurable role in making the Jungle what it is today. One of the biggest testaments to her legacy is the stability and energy that she has generated for the Jungle. We are excited to continue making courageous, resonant theater that engages our audiences and sparks their imagination.
