HOW TO CAST TO YOUR TELEVISION

Casting THE CATASTROPHIST from Vimeo to your TV is easy! Download the Vimeo app to your smartphone or smart TV and create a free Vimeo account. HAVING TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES?

In a pandemic world, technology has helped many arts organizations continue to give artists the opportunity to create when we cannot safely gather together. There are times when technology can be tricky but there is always a solution. If you are experiencing any technical difficulties, check out our comprehensive list of solutions and step-by-step instructions below.

Video Issues/Buffering
Vimeo has an excellent guide of troubleshooting tips and tricks for video linked here.

  • It is possible that your internet connection is unstable, try disconnecting your device and then reconnecting your device to wifi. If you are still experiencing buffering, reboot your router and modem by following the steps below:

  1. Unplug both the router and the modem.

  2. Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug the modem back in.

  3. Wait at least 60 seconds, plug the router back in.

  4. Wait at least 2 minutes, reconnect your device to the wifi.

No Audio

  • Make sure the volume is not at Zero or that the device is muted.

  • If you are connected to a Bluetooth device for listening, try disconnecting and reconnecting the device. If the Bluetooth device is wireless, ensure it is charged.

Frozen Screen or Partially loaded screen

  • Close excess browser tabs that you have open. Even though you may not be using a tab currently it could still be operating in the background making it difficult for other web pages to load.

  • Avoid pressing any keys or making any additional clicks, give the device a minute to think.

  • Try clearing your cookies and cache. See instructions below categorized by browser.

  • In Chrome

    1. Open Chrome. At the top right, click More.

    2. Click More tools, then Clear browsing data.

    3. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.

    4. Next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes. Click Clear data.

  • In Safari

    1. Open the Settings app.

    2. Select Safari, click on Advanced.

    3. Select Website Data, then tap Remove All Website Data.

  • In Internet Explorer

    1. Open a new Internet Explorer browser, then click Tools > Internet Options. (If you don't see this, press the Alt key to show the menu bar.)

    2. In the General tab, under Browsing History section, click Delete.

    3. In the Delete Browsing History window, select the check boxes for Temporary Internet Files and website files and Cookies and website data. If you have saved any Pearson sites as Favorites, clear the check box for Preserve Favorites website data.
